UPG 2K Epoxy MIOX Primer

UPG 2K Epoxy MIOX Primer is a premium-quality, heavy-duty, 2-package epoxy primer designed for protection of exterior and interior surfaces of iron, steel, mild steel, aluminum, and galvanized metals. It ensures seamless bonding between the substrate and topcoat, forming an extremely durable, anti-corrosive foundation for UPG 2K Epoxy Chemical Resistant Top Coats (Normal and Special) in interior applications and UPG 2K Polyurethane Top Coats (Normal and Special) in exterior applications. Beyond the features of a conventional 2K epoxy primer – such as superior anti-corrosion, strong adhesion, chemical resistance, and solvent resistance – this primer excels with enhanced abrasion resistance, water resistance, outdoor weather durability, and reinforced anti-corrosive performance, thanks to its unique ingredient, MIOX (micaceous iron oxide). These properties make it ideal for demanding projects, including steel structures in factories, bridges, warehouses, chemical plants, power plants, transmission towers, wind turbines, crane beams, heavy machinery platforms, oil and gas piping and tanks, and high-exposure roofing. A two-pack epoxy finish contains high quality micaceous iron oxide

  • excellent abrasion and corrosion resistance
  • good adhesion
  • good chemical and water resistance

  • It is flammable. Keep away from sources of ignition. No smoking.
  • No welding. Protect from extremes of temperature. Store in a good ventilated room at room temperature.
  • It needs enough ventilation during application and drying.
  • In case of insufficient ventilation, wear suitable respiratory equipment. Suitable mask should be worn when sanding.
  • When applying paint, it is advisable to wear eye protection, suitable protective clothing and gloves. In case of contact with eyes, rinse immediately with plenty of water and seek medical advice. Remove splashes from skin by using soap and water or a recognized skin cleaner. It may be harmful if swallowed.
  • Keep container tightly closed and keep out of reach of children.
  • Care must be taken when transporting paint. Keep container in a secure upright position. In the event of accident, contain and collect spillage by using sand or earth.
  • Do not empty into drains or watercourses.
  • Dispose of any paint waste in accordance with the appropriate environmental quality regulations.
